The TogCast Live

We're excited to be taking part in a recording of the the TogCast - a photography podcast hosted by Paul Sanders and Sam Gregory. They'll be bringing guest speaker Prof. Tim Allott to talk about his the combination of his career in Physical Geography with landscape photography.

Tim is Professor of Physical Geography at the University of Manchester and a keen landscape photographer. In his day job he's preoccupied by how our landscapes work. He's spent 30 odd years mooching around lakes, streams and bogs trying to understand how they function and change, studying and teaching hydrology and environmental restoration. Photographically, he relishes images which show just how dynamic our various landscapes can be. In his talk Tim will reflect on how a scientific perspective on landscape influences both his own photography and his appreciation of the work of other photographers. He is particularly fascinated with process in the landscape, how this is represented in landscape imagery and the key importance of scale. Tim will explore these ideas using images of his own and work from several other landscape photographers.
