Imperial War Museum North presents the largest ever UK exhibition about the life and work of Don McCullin, one of the world’s most acclaimed photographers, to mark his 75th year. Many items are on public display for the very first time.

For more than 50 years, McCullin’s images have shaped our awareness of modern conflict and its consequences. His courage and integrity, as well as the exceptional quality of his work, are a continuing inspiration and influence worldwide.

A unique collaboration between McCullin and the Imperial War Museum, this major new exhibition contains over 200 photographs, objects, magazines and personal memorabilia, and shows how war has shaped the life of this exceptional British photographer and those across the globe over the last half-century.

A major new book published by Jonathan Cape: Don McCullin: Shaped by War accompanies the exhibition.

David Noton will be holding a Photographic Roadshow in Sheffield on 25th February.

The Roadshow is all about David Noton sharing from his extensive experience how a landscape and travel photographer uses their eyes. It includes landscape, portraiture, street scenes and satellite imagery from around the world as well as in the field advice and photography tips. He shares the highs and lows of being in the field and ‘explores’ pushing the boundaries to encourage experimentation with our own photography. The show has evolved from a photographer standing by a projector into a full audio/visual experience with high definition projection, music, video clips, practical technical backgrounds and humourous travel anecdotes.

Tickets for the roadshow can be purchased from

Powerful and striking images from award-winning conflict photographer Sean Sutton form a new, large-scale outdoor display at Imperial War Museum North in Manchester. The display is a unique collaboration between the Museum and Manchester’s Nobel Peace Prizewinning charity Mines Advisory Group (MAG). It marks 20 years of MAG clearing remnants of conflict for the benefit of people worldwide.
Sean Sutton is a photojournalist who has travelled from Kosovo to Sri Lanka and Iraq, Lebanon and Sudan, recording the impact of landmines for more than 20 years. He has worked for MAG, a humanitarian organisation committed to enabling communities to live and grow safely after war, since 1997.

Sean visited the SMCC in June to share his work with us, for further details of his exhibition please follow this link:
